About the Author

Scott Phillips is a portfolio manager and principal with Lauren Templeton Capital Management, LLC, an alternative and traditional asset management firm. Prior to joining Lauren Templeton Capital Management, LLC, in 2007, he spent four years as a research analyst and consultant to Green Cay Asset Management, located in Nassau, Bahamas. While at Green Cay, he was the lead research analyst on the Siebels Hard Asset Fund, a long/short equity hedge fund focused on hard assets and commodities. Prior to joining Green Cay, he was a research associate analyst with SunTrust Robinson Humphrey and its predecessor companies. During his five years at Robinson Humphrey, he provided equity research on consumer durable goods companies to institutional clients and portfolio managers. Phillips is the coauthor of Investing the Templeton Way (McGraw-Hill, 2008) with Lauren C. Templeton. He is also the author of a quarterly newsletter on investing called “The Maximum Pessimism Report,” distributed to readers worldwide.
