VBA

Visual Basic for Applications, or VBA for short, is a computer programming language that is built into Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. VBA in its present form was introduced in Excel 97 and has changed little in later versions. It is closely related to Microsoft Visual Basic (VB), which is a general programming language used to create standalone executable programs. The latest flavour of Visual Basic is Visual Basic for .NET. Although VBA and VB have a lot in common, VBA can normally only run code within a host application such as Excel or Word. Running inside Excel, VBA has easy access to the objects in the Excel Object Hierarchy, and can be used for manipulating workbooks, worksheets, diagrams, cell ranges and other objects.
