ENTREPRENEURSHIP

INTRODUCTION

In the first theme of The GuruBook—entrepreneurship— the book’s gurus give you input to a number of subjects, including

• How you start a business without an idea

• Why some ideas succeed while others fail

• What entrepreneurs can learn from established businesses and vice versa

• How you can be enterprising, no matter what phase your organization is in

As the book’s editor and a serial entrepreneur, I know entrepreneurship as something that is inspirational, rewarding, demanding, and difficult. It is a craft where you are constantly developing and testing, getting inspiration, developing further, and starting over.

The majority of the successful entrepreneurs that I’ve met and talked with have at least one thing in common: they work on the basis of the following mantra.

Think big.

Act small.

Fail quickly and cheaply.

This means that they are driven by something that’s larger than they are, and they have a desire to do something in the world that’s smarter, better, more meaningful, more important. But as a rule, you start with limited resources and limited time, so you must act small and fail cheaply in order to be able to continue your journey toward the great goal.

Enjoy yourself in reaching your great goals in life; I hope this book can help you some of the way!
