The two pieces of software needed for this book are a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) and Eclipse. Both are free and available for download. Some additional plugins and software are also required, but we will detail how to get and install them along the book. The next section details how to install Eclipse and provides some pointers on where to find information concerning how to install a version of the JVM.
