Hiding Slides and Slide Elements

There may be times when you want to use a subset of slides for a presentation, or perhaps need to hide a single slide because it contains information not appropriate to a particular audience. For example, you may choose not to show a management benefits slide when making a presentation about benefits to non-managers. In that case, you can easily hide the slide, give the presentation, and then unhide it.

Hide and Unhide Slides

  1. Click the Slide Sorter view button.

  2. Click a slide to select it. If you wish to hide more than one slide, hold down Ctrl and click additional slides to select them.

  3. Click the Slide Show tab on the ribbon.

  4. Click the Hide Slide button in the Setup group to hide all selected slides.

    1. A gray box appears over the slide number indicating it is hidden and will not appear when you run the presentation.

  5. With the Slide Sorter view displayed, click the slide or slides you want to unhide.

  6. In the Slide Show tab, click the Hide Slide button in the Setup group. The gray box disappears from around the slide number. The slide will now appear when you run the presentation.
