about the author

Stuart Albert is one of the foremost timing experts in the world. He has developed a practical, research-based method for managing timing in business, and his patent on the interpretation of movement in time was featured in the New York Times. He is on the faculty of the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, and has been a visiting scholar at Harvard and MIT. Albert's theory of temporal comparison continues to be cited and to stimulate work thirty years after it was published, and he has developed a new time-sensitive format for business cases that will help executives plan and implement better timing strategies.

This book is the product of more than ten thousand hours of research and writing by Albert over the course of twenty years. During that time, he has written numerous articles on timing and has worked with a small group of companies as clients and collaborators, helping them craft successful timing strategies and learn from past timing mistakes.

Albert is a member of the Academy of Management and the International Society for the Study of Time, the premier organization in the world for the interdisciplinary study of time. He has published in top academic and applied journals in management and psychology and has presented his work on timing at conferences and seminars in Paris, Stockholm, and São Paulo, as well as at universities and executive workshops in the United States. He divides his time among Minneapolis, Minnesota; Cambridge, Massachusetts; and São Paulo, Brazil. For more information, please visit http://www.stuartalbert.com.
