Chapter 18. Windows 2000 and Exchange Server

One of the most common and successful Microsoft BackOffice products is Microsoft Exchange. In many organizations, the Exchange messaging system brought Windows NT out of the workgroup and spread it across the enterprise. Exchange, as a messaging system, offered the benefits of a true client/server system with the convenience of centralized management. Able to support tens of users to tens of thousands of users, Exchange offers a scalable, standards-based messaging system that is packed full of functionality. If your organization uses Microsoft Exchange, the way that it coexists with Windows 2000 is an important part of your Windows 2000 and Active Directory planning process.
