Summary

 In this chapter, we learned to apply colors to our objects and create a light source such as a lamp in our game world. We then looked at the effects of light on the materials. We also understood the different types of lighting techniques: ambient, diffused, specular lighting. We explored the various materials and observed the effects of light on the materials. We concluded by learning about lightmaps in this chapter.

In the next chapter, we'll discuss about the different sources of light such as directional light, point light and spot light and how to combine those in our game world.
