DEVONthink’s Documentation

I refer throughout this book to DEVONthink’s documentation. It’s available within the app via Help > DEVONthink 3 Help; you can also download it in the form of a user handbook in PDF or EPUB format from the DEVONthink Handbooks and Extras webpage.

Settings and Preferences

Starting in macOS 13 Ventura, Apple renamed System Preferences to System Settings, and also began using Settings as the name of the window found in individual apps for configuring their preferences. As a result, if you’re using DEVONthink in Ventura or later, you go to DEVONthink 3 > Settings, whereas if you’re using Monterey or earlier, you go to DEVONthink 3 > Preferences. To avoid spelling that out dozens of times throughout the book, I now use a shorthand notation, like “go to Settings/Preferences > Editing.”
