Download the Apache Flink binaries relevant to your platform at https://flink.apache.org/downloads.html:

Download Hadoop version 2.8 by clicking on Download. You will see the download page in your browser, as shown in the following screenshot:

In this instance, I downloaded flink-1.4.2-bin-hadoop28-scala_2.11.tgz, which is the most recent version available.
Once downloaded, extract the binaries. On a Mac or a Linux machine, you can use the tar command:
