David Z. Beitz is Partner and Co-Founder of Beitz and Daigh Geographics, a firm specializing in the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) primarily for the real estate business sector. Beitz’s team also created Planned Grocery® a location analytics platform used by many grocery retailers, shopping center developers, and investment banks to track the development cycle of grocery stores across the United States. Having worked with shopping center owners, real estate investors, developers, brokers, investment banking professionals, and Internet entrepreneurs; Beitz has a diverse skill set in providing his clients with advanced location research and marketing as well as online mapping applications. Having developed innovative systems (some proprietary) for the use of GIS in Real Estate, he is always looking for new ways to help clients leverage spatial technology to their benefit.
Beitz graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science from the College of Science and Mathematics and today has over 25 years of GIS experience (four years in Transportation Planning and 14 years in Real Estate, six years in GIS Consulting). He holds the Real Estate Development Certificate from the Urban Land Institute (2010), is a LEED Green Associate—Green Building Certification Institute (2009), and his various teams have received two Special Achievement Awards from ESRI (2001, 2012). Beitz has contributed to articles referencing GIS in Computerworld,1 LBxJornal,2 and GreenBiz.com.3 Also data from the Planned Grocery application that his team built has been mentioned in the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Business Insider, and Forbes.
