(a) Decide priority:

• note “Review” where the controls are adequate

• show high risk factors with Priority Rating 1

• identify medium risk factors with Priority Rating 2

• identify low risk factors with Priority Rating 3

(b) Prepare Plan of Action, with the steps you need to take and timescales for when you need to complete the actions for:

• Priority Rating 1

• Priority Rating 2

• Priority Rating 3

(c) Set up appropriate Records

(d) Provide Staff with all the relevant information

(e) Make sure you have established appropriate ways to consult with workers

(f) Identify one or more “competent person(s)” for Healthy & Safety

(g) Setup arrangements to keep up to date with legislation changes

(h) Produce a Health and Safety Policy

(i) Include other Policy statements where appropriate
