In this chapter, we have learned how to measure and optimize database performance through the use of simple measurement techniques such as query optimization. Also, we have seen how to use advanced database benchmarking tools such as DBT2 and SysBench.

In the next chapter, we will see how to use modern SQL techniques in order to optimize very complex SQL queries.
