Simeon Cathey brings a variety of perspectives to this book on SharePoint. For the last three years, he has been a consultant specializing in SharePoint deployments for both large (75,000 seats) and small (500 seats) organizations. He applies his immense design talents to customize the environment exactly to the customer needs while using his deep development knowledge to drive requirements to the Avitiva development team to create integrated, functional and valuable portals to businesses.

Prior to joining forces with Wayne and Wynne to start Avitiva, he architected business productivity solutions and provided SharePoint consulting services to business organizations. Simeon spent 5 years at Microsoft in a variety of roles on the SharePoint Portal Server product team. From the early planning phases of SPS v1 to the release of SPS v2, Simeon led efforts in test, support, customer programs, and release management as well as Microsoft’s customer focused SharePoint beta programs.

Simeon enjoys a variety of hobbies in his leisure time—usually anything that involves speed and a lot of toys including snow boarding, wake boarding, scuba diving and wholeheartedly having what he would call “genuine fun”.
