Recall that you need four components to solve your problem:
•The overarching question that summarises your problem – the quest,
•Various alternatives to answer that question,
•Criteria that will help you identify which of these alternatives you prefer, and
•The evaluations of each alternative on each criterion.
Now that we have a quest, let’s shift our focus to exploring alternatives and criteria.
Chapter 4 shows how you can explore the solution space using a close cousin of the why map: the how map. Chapter 5 will show how to explore criteria that you can use to choose the most promising alternative.
