Creating a DNS record

To create a DNS record, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the DNS zone you have just created, as shown in the following screenshot:

  1. Click on Record set, and a new blade will be opened, asking to specify the following:
    • Name: The name of the record.
    • Type: The record type.
    • TTL: Time to live of the DNS request.
    • TTL unit: The measurement of time for TTL. It can be seconds, minutes, hours, days, or weeks.
    • IP ADDRESS: The IP address to which the record name will be translated.

  1. Once you click on OK, the record will be created within a moment.
  1. You can view all the created records within this zone in the Overview tab, as shown in the following screenshot:

  1. So far, the zone you have created cannot be translated externally. Therefore, you need to make sure that all Azure name servers are configured on your domain name, so the DNS records can be found on the internet, which will be discussed later:
