As mentioned earlier, the external endpoint can be on your premises or in another cloud. To add an external endpoint, you need to perform the following steps:
- Navigate to the Traffic Manager profile, and under SETTINGS click on Endpoints
- A new blade will be opened; click on Add
- The blade for adding the endpoint will pop up, wherein you need to specify the following:
- Type: Here, the External endpoint would be selected
- Name: Here, specify a name for the endpoint
- Fully-qualified domain name (FQDN): This is the FQDN of the endpoint, which might be a Load Balancer, a website, a VM, and so on
- Location: This is the location of the external endpoint

- Once you click on OK, the endpoint should be added within a minute
