Acknowledgments

I would like to acknowledge all of the practical experience I gained while I was with Ernst & Young working on a number of portfolios of projects. They had developed a very systematic, documented, proven approach to managing a large portfolio of very challenging projects/programs to minimize their probability of failure and to maximize the profit Ernst & Young realized from working on the projects.

I also would like to acknowledge the unsung hero of this book, Candy Rogers, who coordinated and brought together the writings and thoughts of the three authors. She spent numerous hours combining the writings together into a book that has a continuous information flow, and edited the inputs to be sure we used the same terms and technology, thereby harmonizing the total manuscript.
