Alpha testing is considered to be the first phase of testing software. This test usually involves very few numbers of testers. At this stage, the app is highly unstable, so a few people close to the developers will be involved at this stage to test and provide constructive feedback. After the app becomes stabilized, it is ready to move into beta testing.
