In this chapter, we looked at the factors that provide the wider context for the use of Qlik Sense. The factors covered arise out of both increasing technical capability and demands to compete in a globalized, information-centric world, where out-analyzing your competitors is a key success factor.

In the next chapter, we will look in detail at Qlik Sense itself and how its features and benefits help in meeting these requirements, beginning with the application's life cycle.
