ML Kit's barcode-scanning API helps read data encoded using most standard barcode formats. It supports linear formats such as Codabar, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, EAN-8, EAN-13, ITF, UPC-A, or UPC-E, as well as 2-D formats such as Aztec, Data Matrix, PDF417, or QR codes. 

The API can recognize and scan barcodes regardless of their orientation. Any structured data that is stored as a barcode can be recognized.
