Summary

Mobility in Exchange 2003 through the use of Pocket PC devices, Smartphones, and Web-enabled mobile phones provides organizations the ability to extend Exchange to users that might otherwise not have regular connectivity to their messages, calendar appointments, contacts, and other information. With mobile access built in to Exchange 2003, an organization sets up the mobile device and enables users to connect to the Internet and then access their information.

Through the implementation of SSL encryption on information transfers, the data sent and received is secured, and all information remains on the Exchange Server should users lose their mobile device. Mobility has been greatly extended with Exchange 2003 to provide more ways for users to access Outlook and Exchange information.
