Acknowledgments

Writing a book of such a scope seemed daunting at the beginning. There were 15 contributing organizations from around the world to coordinate with, their leadership teams, legal teams, corporate communications teams, all the way to their boards in some cases. We are very thankful to all the contributors for their time, patience, and consideration, but we are also extremely grateful to all whose names that have not appeared as contributors, but without whose support, this book would not have been possible: Anisha Jain of IndiGrid; Karen Pantinas, Michaela Mendes, and Thomas Merchant of Globalization Partners; Graeme McMillan of Fonterra; Anup Tiwari of SOS Children's Villages; Ceci Yen, and Audrey Chan of GOGOX; Anirban Mukhopadhyay of Abacus Pharma; and Arnd Einhorn and Katrin Meusinger of A. Lange & Söhne.

We are deeply indebted to Mr. David Frigstad, chairman of Frost & Sullivan, for his invaluable support and feedback at various stages of the book. We are also thankful to our colleagues at Frost & Sullivan, who provided important input toward this book.

We are immensely grateful to the team at Wiley for their incredible support throughout the journey of this book, from conceptualization to its final form. In particular, we would like to thank Brian Neill, content acquisitions editor, for his round-the-clock support and very timely interventions; Kelly Talbot, editor, for his sharp pen and his attention to every detail; and Mr. Jesse Wiley for having the confidence in us in developing this work.

Writing a book during the pandemic presented its own unique challenges, given that everyone's lives, including ours, were filled with many ups and downs. Some of us had to deal with personal losses while the whole world was grappling with grief and uncertainty. On that note, very special thanks from us to our partners, parents, children, extended families, and friends for constantly assuring us by providing a sense of normalcy while giving us the strength and confidence to pursue our initiative.

A final note of thanks from us goes to all the healthcare professionals, vaccine researchers, frontline staff, and volunteers in governmental and not-for-profit organizations around the world who have been directly or indirectly involved in managing the COVID-19 pandemic. Your courage, perseverance, and sacrifices are what have given us and everyone in the world courage and hope in continuing with our daily lives.
