About the Authors
Sharon Pande is Associate Professor, Human Resources and Behavioural Sciences, School of Business Management, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai. She has been there for four and a half years. She is also a human resources (HR) professional, psychologist and career counsellor.
Dr Pande completed her Ph.D. in Management this year from NMIMS. Her area of research was career counselling. She has an MBA in Human Resources and a Masters in Psychology.
A corporate experience of fourteen years in human resources goes to Dr Pande's credit. Her last stint was with Reliance Capital (Consumer Finance) where she held the position of Vice-President, Human Resources. She has also worked with organizations such as Fullerton India (Temasek Holdings) and Reliance Communications.
Pande has over fifteen publications in international, national journals and business magazines. She also works as a career counsellor on an honorary basis.
Swapnalekha Basak is an electrical engineer from Harcourt Butler Technological Institute (HBTI), Kanpur. She has a postgraduate diploma in Business Management from the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Ghaziabad. She brings with herself a unique combination of real-time human resource management experience in top corporations of the country across diverse industries such as the media, the telecom industry and the information technology (IT) industry; and in facilitating management education through teaching, writing and coaching management students.
In her career of more than fifteen years, Basak has been in HR leadership roles driving organizational development, change management and human resources initiatives in global organizations such as STAR TV, Reliance and GTL. Her last corporate assignment was as Head, HR, SAS India. Now with a certificate in counseling from the University of Oxford, she divides her time between counselling students and executives, teaching at various campuses of the Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) and writing.
