First things first. We need data. Rather than make some up, we'll follow what several other working examples in the Watson Studio Community have done and download some collected data available publicly from the NOAA National Climatic Data Center (NCDC): www.ncdc.noaa.gov/data-access/quick-links.

Here's how to get the raw data from the NCDC:

1. From the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) site, click on Global Historical Climatology Network (GHCN).
2. Click on GHCN-Daily FTP Access.

3. Click on the by_year/ folder.
4. Scroll to the bottom and click on 2015.csv.gz to download the dataset.
5. After the file has downloaded, extract it to an easily accessible location.
