LET THEM VACATION WHEN THEY WANT TO VACATION

There’s no good time for good people to go on vacation. Whenever they take one, they’ll be missed. And the better they are, the more missed they’ll be.

In other words, there’s no way a good person’s vacation can please you. You’re always going to lose in the short run, even though you know that — because of their increased productivity — the company will win in the long.

So let them take their vacations whenever it suits them best, no matter how ill it suits you.

That way, at least one of you will win in the short run, too.
