If you start to feel overwhelmed by negative feedback, excuse your-
self from the conversation and don’t return until you’ve regained your
equilibrium.

Also use the “Refl ected Best Self” exercise to ask for positive feedback
and use it to triangulate a picture of who you are at your best. Use that
information to reverse-engineer your job: how would it work for your
best self?
