The following procedure will help you to configure the security, traffic shaping, teaming, and failover settings on a dvPortGroup:
- Connect to vCenter Server using the HTML5 client and go to the Networking inventory view.
- Right-click on the desired dvPortGroup and click Edit Settings...:
- On the Edit Settings window, use the Security screen to accept/reject Promiscuous mode, MAC address changes, and Forged transmits. Note that all three settings are set to Reject by default:
- On the Teaming and failover screen, configure Load balancing, Network failure detection, Notify switches, and Failback. Also, configure the Failover order of the uplinks, if necessary:
- On the Traffic shaping screen, enable and configure Ingress/Egress traffic shaping:
- Once the desired settings have been configured, click OK to confirm.
This completes the process of Configuring Security, Traffic Shaping, Teaming, and Failover on a vDS.
