All models, templates, methodologies, and strategies presented in this book have been tested and applied in real organizations. I have invented some of them, and I have adapted and improved many of them. I have combined them in creative ways to suit the specific circumstances of complex organizations. The content of this book has evolved over more than 20 years of experimenting and learning at different organizations that I worked with or consulted for. It has been influenced by every business I have worked with and every book and article that I have read. I do most sincerely thank all of them. This book, however, is my own paradigm and any limitations or errors that it may contain are my own. In the same breath, I would like to reiterate the words of Joel Barker: “The future is very important. It is where we will spend the rest of our lives. The success of the past does not guarantee the success for the future. Once the paradigm shifts, everyone goes back to zero.”
