Author's Acknowledgements

I would like to personally thank Ben Kemble for approaching me with this book and giving me the opportunity to write a book on an important subject that could help so many people.

Thank you so much to Iona Everson for her patience and understanding when I was recovering from knee surgery. I was quite unwell at that point and I am very grateful to her for giving me some extra time! The whole team at Wiley have always been helpful and supportive, so thank you very much, I am fortunate to have had such a great team.

Thank you also to Angel Adams for agreeing to be a technical editor on this book. Find out more about Angel Adams, a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, at www.drangeladams.com.

Special thanks to Shamash Alidina, who has been a fantastic mentor, answered my many questions and concerns and gave my chapters a quick once over for me. He has also given me unwavering support and continues to be one of my most positive and encouraging friends, so for that I am truly grateful.

A big thank you to Hamilton for driving me to and from the local library so I could hobble in on crutches and get big portions of my writing done. Thank you also for your support and encouragement, even if you had to pick me up after an hour or so! Thank you also to my extended family, especially my Grandma. She has always urged me to follow my heart and choose what makes me happy, so I am indebted to her for that.

Thank you also to my friends Fran, Angie, Becky, Jackie, Ishia, Serena, Dominique, Sarah, Hayley, Suki, Ben and Chevi. Their support over the last year has meant a lot.

Finally, thank you to you, dear reader. Without your support this would not have been possible.
