As we have previously mentioned, the disk solution deployed is a key component for a successful VDI deployment. You need to be able to keep an eye on the disk performance, which is key to avoiding issues in the future.

How much latency is acceptable within your environment is going to very much depend on the users. Also consider what will happen as you scale up the solution. While we may say that disk latency of less than 25 ms is generally acceptable, it doesn't mean that a user who has been using a desktop with sub-25 ms latency would even notice if, all of a sudden, they were experiencing 25 ms latency or more.

Your storage vendor will likely have their own toolset to manage and monitor the performance; however, the following screenshot shows an overview of storage IOPS performance on a per-host basis:
