ABOUT THE ARTIST

Maricar Concepcion Ramos is the artist, self-taught calligrapher, and educator behind Seven Brush Strokes. A former engineer from the Philippines who worked five to six days a week to meet deadlines, for Maricar, the stressful nature of her job paved the way for her to find a creative outlet without knowing that a simple hobby would turn into her greatest passion.

She is now a full-time artist who shares her love for calligraphy and watercolor while living her role as a wife and a fur mom to three lovely dogs: Summer, Winter, and Autumn.

Maricar has taught thousands of aspiring calligraphy artists through in-person and online classes and has collaborated with various artists and art-supply brands across the globe, including Tombow. She also runs an Etsy shop where people find her best-selling digital workbooks and practice sheets helpful for their progress. She continues to inspire by sharing her artwork and creative journey on Instagram @SevenBrushStrokes.
