Providing indexing and search capabilities across OpenStack resources is the aim of OpenStack's Searchlight project. OpenStack Searchlight uses ElasticSearch, a search server based on Apache Lucene. On top of this, Searchlight adds authentication and role-based access control to provide the appropriate protection of data.
