Databases are the backbone of many Microsoft services. To enable customers to use these database services, too, Microsoft has started to offer the following services:

• Azure Database for PostgreSQL: Azure Database for PostgreSQL provides a managed database service for app developments and deployments that have a need for the PostgreSQL database.
• SQL Server Stretch Database: With SQL Server Stretch Database, customers can dynamically stretch warm and cold transactional data from Microsoft SQL Server to Azure.
• Redis Cache: Azure Redis Cache is based on the open source Redis Cache, giving customers access to a secure, dedicated cache for Azure applications.
