About the Authors

Starting off as a small boy on a farm in a galaxy far, far away, G.W. Childs dreamed of sound and music. As he grew, he learned synthesis, sound design, song writing, and remixing. As a soldier in psychological operations, G.W. learned ways to creatively use sound; and as a touring musician performing with the likes of Soil & Eclipse, Deathline Int’l, and Razed in Black, he learned to bring music to the masses.

Still listening to his inner child, G.W. decided to work in video games as well and really stepped in to a galaxy far, far away, doing sound design on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords; acting in Star Wars: Battlefront; and contributing to many other popular video game titles, TV shows, and so on.

But the call of synthesis never fully left his ears, so G.W. did a lot of sound design on the popular music application Reason 3, and Reason 4, and the amazing plug-in from Cakewalk, Rapture.

Excited to share knowledge from these wonderful adventures, G.W. has written books under the Cengage Learning banner, including Creating Music and Sound for Video Games, Using Reason Onstage, and Making Music with Mobile Devices. He has also written many highly acclaimed articles and video tutorials with MacProVideo and Ask.com.
