Your subscription to ACT! E-Marketing includes a number of global templates that you can use. These templates are stored in the Template Manager. In order to make changes to these templates you must first select a global template and copy it to the local templates area of the Template Manager. Once copied, you can edit the template by changing the graphics, verbal content, and even the design using the ACT! E-Marketing design tools. In addition, if you or someone you know is proficient in HTML they can custom design a template using their own software; you can then import those HTML templates into the Template Manager.
You’ll need to have set up your ACT! E-marketing account and responded to the welcome email before proceeding. Of course, it will also help to have an idea about the template you wish to create.
- Click the Write menu, point to Sage E-marketing for ACT!, and choose E-mail Marketing. The following image shows you an example of the ACT! E-marketing dialog window:
- Click the Edit Template button which opens your browser to the Swiftpage Template Editor.
- Click the Manage Templates button which opens the Swiftpage Template Manager. The following image shows you what this looks like:
- Click the Global Templates tab.
- Scroll down the list of templates and then click the Preview button to preview the selected template and then click the <<Back button to return to the Swiftpage Template Manager.
- Click the Copy to Local button once you have selected a template that you like.
- Give a name to the template and click the Copy button to copy the template to the Local Templates library.
- Click the Edit Template button on the Template Copy confirmation screen.
Your template is now listed in the Local Templates library. You can use it "as is" or edit it in the Swiftpage Template Editor to make it more appropriate to your needs.
Each template is divided into a series of windows arranged in columns and rows. You can edit or remove any of the windows, add new windows, or change the order of the windows.
