Promoting a Secondary Contact

At some point, you may find that you need to start tracking interactions with a Secondary Contact. For example, you might need to add notes or schedule an appointment with the Secondary Contact. Or, the Secondary Contact may have received a promotion in his own company making him a more important contact in terms of your ACT! database.

You can promote a Secondary Contact to a Primary Contact. Once promoted, the secondary contact has its own contact record and is removed from the Secondary Contacts tab for the contact.

How to do it...

  1. Navigate to the contact record and click the Secondary Contacts tab.
  2. Right-click on the Secondary Contact you wish to promote.
  3. Choose Promote Secondary Contact from the contextual menu.
  4. Click Yes to the warning dialog box to confirm that you'd like to promote the contact.

How it works...

Once promoted, the secondary contact has its own contact record and is removed from the Secondary Contacts tab for the contact.

Over time you may no longer have a need for a Secondary Contact. To remove one simply give it a right-click and choose the Delete Secondary Contact... option from the contextual
