Introduction

You probably open up both ACT! and your web browser first thing every morning. You're probably also used to maneuvering back and forth between the two programs. And, there are probably times when you are actually conducting a bit of research about one of your ACT! contacts using your web browser.

The Web Info tab is an internal browser that lets you display web page information on the lower portion of the Contact and Company Detail views. The cool thing about the browser is that it displays information specific to the Contact or Company record that you are currently viewing.

ACT! comes with several links to popular websites such as Google Driving Directions, LinkedIn, and Yahoo search. When you click on one of the web links the Web page displays information based on data in the various fields on a contact or company record. For example, if you select Google Driving Directions from a contact's Web Info tab, the browser opens and displays the directions from the location you use on your "My Record" to that of your contact.

You can customize what displays in the Web Info tab by adding, editing, or removing links. You can also open an external browser, copy a link to paste it into another record, and increase/decrease the size of the tab to allow better viewing of maps and information.

In addition, you can also attach a website address to a contact or company's history. You can even add a list of your favorite sites directly to ACT!'s View menu to make it easy to get to your favorite websites without having to leave the comfort of your ACT! home.
