SOCCER AS AN EXAMPLE
Let us take soccer for example. In the past, the formation was fixed and each player was expected
to play his role. But today games continuously change so the team is compelled to introduce an
adaptive network operation. Each player is expected to play a different role from time to time
which is needed to win the game. us, each player needs to have multiple capabilities to meet
the imminent expectation (Fig. 9.3).

Knute Rockne, famous American football player and coach, has a famous quote: “11 Best, Best
11” [9]. He claims that the best team cannot be made of by the 11 best players. e best team
