We will expand the data set (SmokingHealthCareExpenditures.jmp) from the case “Health Care Costs Associated with Smoking: A National Perceptive,” to include additional data on smoking cessation expenditures, cigarette taxes, median household income, population, land area, and other demographic information for each US state. The data was obtained from the Centers for Disease Control’s State Tobacco Activities Tracking and Evaluation (STATE) System and the US Census Bureau (www.census.gov) and compiled into the file SmokingDeterranceAndDemographics.jmp.
