You can also use the Trace Compass application or Eclipse plugin to analyze the traces in the host by visiting http://projects.eclipse.org/projects/tools.tracecompass/downloads. Trace Compass supports not only the LTTng output format, but a wide variety of other formats including the Common Trace Format (CFT) that can be exported from recent versions of the perf tool. It is now included as part of the Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers.
