All That Other Album Stuff You Need to Know

If you want to change the name of an existing album, it’s actually a little funky of a process. First go to Albums, tap See All to the right of My Albums, then tap Edit at the top right, and tap directly on the name of the album whose name you want to change (you have to tap right on that name or it won’t activate the renaming field). If you tapped right on an album name, it’s very subtle, but you’ll see a blue, blinking text cursor appear after the last letter of the current name (as seen circled above left). Tap the back arrow key on the keyboard until all the letters are erased and now you can type in your new name, and then tap Done in the top right. Seems like a lot of steps for something so simple, right? Kind of “un-Apple-like.” Anyway, that’s how it’s done. If you want to change the order of your albums, so they’re in the order you want them to appear, go to Albums, tap See All, then tap Edit, and then tap-and-hold on an album’s thumbnail and drag it where you want it to appear (as seen above middle). Tap Done when you’re done. The next task, deleting an album, you probably already saw how to do when doing one of the other tasks. Go to Albums, tap See All, then tap Edit, and then any album with a red circle with a – (minus sign) inside it at the top left (as seen circled above right) can be deleted (some can’t be deleted, like your Favorites or Recents albums). Tap directly on the red circle for any album you want to remove. It will ask if you want to delete that album (don’t worry, it won’t delete the photos inside the album—they will still be in your Recents or All Photos), so if you do want to actually delete the album, just tap Delete Album.
