If you're a serious gamer, this applet may interest you. You use it to configure and control the joysticks, steering wheels, game pads, flight yokes, and other controllers you've attached to your PC.
If Windows 2000 Pro doesn't automatically install a new controller's driver, you can use the Add button to do so. As you'll see in the resulting dialog box, there's a controller type for all occasions.
The Advanced page of Game Controllers allows you to assign IDs to multiple controllers and otherwise customize your setup.
Tip
If you're unable to add your game controller, it's possible that your game port isn't properly installed. Right-click the My Computer icon and select Manage from the shortcut menu. Double-click Device Manager, then click the + sign beside Sound, Video and Game Controllers. If Gameport Joystick is not listed, use the Add/Remove Hardware function in the Control Panel (Section 16.2.1) to install it.
