The Transcareer Team

Taking time off and giving myself early marks three days a week to write this text meant that many colleagues and friends had to take up my not inconsiderable workload whilst I indulged myself in undertaking this interesting project – thanks, guys.

Clients

Since working in Australia I have enjoyed the support and assistance of numerous clients because as a Management Psychologist, clients always guarantee that you are climbing a very steep learning curve to ensure that your pragmatic recommendations, derived from a soft academic base, are right first time – thanks, guys.

The real workers

Writing gives you a much larger shadow than you deserve and I thank my wife, soul mate, best friend and adviser, Jane, for all the indulgences she has given me. To Victoria and Anthony, my beautiful step-children, for their support in the Chardonnay department. Finally to my dogs, Bana and Daisy, for keeping my three cats, Solomon, Sheba and Pierre, out of the study and their paws off my keyboard when I took breaks – thanks, guys.

Editorial support

As one who is a great starter but poor finisher I most certainly would have struggled with this project if it had not been for the continual support of the Pearson editorial team. Accolades and gratitude must go to Samantha Jackson, my Acquisitions Editor, who was more than adequately supported by Elie Williams, Laura Blake, Senior Editor, and especially Rachel Hayter, Editorial Assistant, who through her frequent demands for progress reports ensured I attempted to make my target of 1500 words on my writing days – thanks, guys.

R&R

Writing not only takes research but also reflection and thinking time, and so I was blessed that within a three-minute stroll I could undertake this important right-brain activity on the beautiful Bondi Beach. Prince Charles may talk to flowers; my solace is talking to the waves of the Tasman Sea that twice a day roll up the beach just to check up on progress or for a discussion on a particular point – thanks, waves.
