Cloud native application design patterns, specifically those made up of many smaller services, are not the only reason why change management is happening faster; automation and containerization are also key contributors. This is not something that is unique to the cloud. However, due to the API-driven nature of the cloud and the almost unlimited ability to collect, store, and analyze data, it is causing a revolution in the way change management is happening. Automated deployments using DevOps philosophies and continuous integration, continuous deployment (CICD) pipelines make the process of code deployment, and rollback, seamless and, most importantly, consistent. Cloud vendors have tools that natively solve a lot of the challenges involving code storage, code building, code deployments, and code testing. In addition, there are ways to achieve advanced CICD pipelines using custom development methods as well.
