SPD is a web and application design program that can be used to create custom no-code solutions for SharePoint 2010. SPD can be used to create sites ranging from small management sites to complex portal solutions. SPD is a single environment through which you can create a SharePoint site, customize individual components, design business processes, and deploy the site, all with zero coding effort. Because you have a single environment for all the tasks, you can spend more time on site customization rather than searching for various components for each task.
