Exploring the PerformancePoint Services Dashboard Designer

The PerformancePoint Services Dashboard Designer is a desktop application for designing and publishing Business Intelligence dashboards. Dashboards represent important business performance related data to enable organizations to measure and monitor business performance more effectively.

You can launch the Dashboard Designer from the web browser itself. Provision a new site collection with Business Intelligence Center template, present under enterprise templates. Once the site collection is provisioned, navigate to the site and select Start Using PerformancePoint Services from the Create Dashboards section. You get a screen similar to Figure 23.7.

Click the Run Dashboard Designer button to launch the PerformancePoint Services Dashboard Designer. Launching the Dashboard Designer for the first time will take some time.
