About the Authors

James Pyles, A+, Network+, works as a freelance consultant, technical writer and editor. He has been involved in numerous Ethernet rollout projects, software and hardware installations and upgrades, as well as Windows and UNIX operating system upgrades. He has provided support services for a city government IT department and a wireless network vendor, supported a usability lab for Hewlett-Packard (HP), and served as the technical writer for EmergeCore Networks, Aquent Studios, iAnywhere/Sybase, and was a Developmental Editor for Global Support Content Operations at Hewlett-Packard (HP).

His most recent book is MCTS: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 Configuration Study Guide: Exam 70-630 (Sybex, March 2008). He has also authored SharePoint 2007: The Definitive Guide (O'Reilly, September 2007) and PC Technician Street Smarts (Sybex, November 2006). Additionally, he was the Technical Editor for SharePoint for Project Management (O'Reilly, October 2008) and Essential SharePoint 2007 (O'Reilly, July 2008).

James has also written numerous eLearning courses such as Wireless Networking Solutions, Small Business Servers and Networking, Securing Windows XP, and Senior Network Administrator Best Practices, for hardware vendors such as HP, eMachines, and Gateway. Christopher M. Buechler, CISSP, SSCP, MCSE, MCSA, MCDBA, is a cofounder and Chief Technology Officer of BSD Perimeter, a company providing IT security services, including firewall support, vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing.

He also serves as Network Manager for a regional bank, handling its network security and infrastructure.
