Premium Accounts for Employers and Recruiters

With a free Basic LinkedIn account, you can pay to post individual jobs by purchasing job credits with your credit card as described in Chapter 15. You can see up to 100 candidates when you conduct a talent search, see the first names of your third-degree and group connections who might meet your targeting criteria, and get up to 3 automated alerts when new candidates meet your chosen job criteria.

For individuals, businesses, and corporations that need more features, there are three premium talent account types—Talent Basic, Talent Finder, and Talent Pro—as well as a corporate recruiting account—Corporate Recruiting Solutions. The features and pricing for each are provided below.

Talent Basic: For $49.95 per month (or $39.95 per month if you pay for a full year up front), you get all of the features of a free Basic account and can do the following:

Contact up to 10 people using InMail with a guaranteed response or your InMail count doesn’t go down.

Use premium filters when you conduct candidate searches.

See up to 500 profiles when you conduct searches.

Save and manage candidate information and processes in up to 25 folders.

See expanded profiles of everyone on LinkedIn.

Allow people outside your network to contact you for free with OpenLink, making it easy for candidates to communicate with you.

See the first names of your third-degree and group connections.

See everyone who has viewed your profile.

Get up to seven alerts per week when new candidates meet your specific criteria.

Use the Reference Search tool.

Get priority customer service.

Talent Finder: For $99.95 per month (or $74.95 per month if you pay for a full year up front), you get all features in the free Basic account, the premium Talent Basic account, and the following additional or modified features:

Contact up to 25 people using InMail with a guaranteed response or your InMail count doesn’t go down.

Use premium filters and talent filters to conduct candidate searches.

See up to 700 profiles when you conduct searches.

Search for talent within up to 50 groups that you belong to.

Save and manage candidate information and processes in up to 50 folders.

See the full names of your third-degree and group connections.

Get up to 10 alerts per week when new candidates meet your specific criteria.

Talent Pro: For $499.95 per month (or $399.95 per month if you pay for a full year up front), you can get all of the features offered in the free Basic account, premium Talent Basic account, and premium Talent Finder account as well as the following additional or modified features:

Contact up to 50 people using InMail with a guaranteed response or your InMail count doesn’t go down.

See up to 1,000 profiles when you conduct searches.

Save and manage candidate information and processes in up to 75 folders.

Get up to 15 alerts per week when new candidates meet your specific criteria.

Recruiting Solutions: For an undisclosed amount of money (unless you contact LinkedIn and watch a demo of the Recruiting Solutions product), you can upgrade to a comprehensive recruiting tool. This type of account is expensive but full featured. See Chapter 15 for a list of 20 key features Recruiting Solutions account holders get. This type of account is used by large companies with frequent hiring needs as well as recruiting agencies that need to build large talent pools and fill a large number of jobs on an ongoing basis.
