Subscribing to Q&A Category Feeds
You can save time and make sure you don’t miss questions published in specific categories on LinkedIn Answers by subscribing to individual question category RSS feeds.
To subscribe to receive new questions in a LinkedIn Answers category via feed reader, click the Answer Questions tab and select a category from the list in the Browse box on the right side of your screen as shown in Figure 9.6.
Drill down to the most targeted and appropriate categories for you, and click the link for your chosen category. A list of questions appears on the left side of your screen, but in order to subscribe to receive the questions in this category via your feed reader in the future, you need to scroll down to the bottom of the Browse box on the right side of your screen. Here you can find a message that says “Subscribe to new questions in:,” as shown in Figure 9.6.
Beneath that message is the RSS icon followed by the name of the category as a link. Click the category link next to the RSS icon to open the Subscribe Now pop-up window shown in Figure 9.7.
Just choose your preferred feed reader from the list provided, and follow the instructions to add the feed subscription to your feed reader account. From now on, you can see new questions, along with all other feeds you subscribe to, without even logging in to LinkedIn. When you see a question in your feed reader that you can answer, log in to your LinkedIn account and submit your answer. It’s a great time saver!
You can subscribe to the feeds of as many question categories as you want. This is particularly useful if you use LinkedIn for multiple purposes and to connect with varied audiences such as clients, investors, recruiters, and more. Just make sure you keep your questions and answers focused on activities that can help you reach your goals, so your time is invested wisely and your reputation and exposure grow in the best possible ways.

The Least You Need to Know
• You can use LinkedIn Answers to ask public questions that everyone on LinkedIn can see or private questions that only your selected connections can see.
• Answering questions is a great way to demonstrate your expertise, boost your reputation, and get exposure to new audiences.
• If you know someone who can answer a question on LinkedIn Answers, suggest him or her as an expert. Both the person who asked the question and the expert are sure to appreciate the help and exposure opportunity.
• You can subscribe to the RSS feeds of question categories in LinkedIn Answers, so you receive new questions via your preferred feed reader.
